Following the death of a Nigerian Immigration Service officer, Alhaji Usman Ndagi, who reportedly died a few hours after receiving the news of the death of his sister, the citizens of Mokwa, Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State, were left in mourning.
Ndagi, who is well known among his peeps and locals with the name Yandakoture, died in Abuja in the early hours of Thursday, November 19, after complaining of dizziness.
A member of the group, Yax Mokwa, revealed that Nnadi, who was recently promoted to the rank of Deputy Comptroller in the Nigeria Immigration Service, died shortly after complaining of dizziness while his bags were being packed in the car for the trip to Niger State to bury his dear sister, providing details of the sad progress.
In a post on his social media site, Mokwa disclosed this. “He wrote, “One of the most illustrious sons of Kin Mokwa is surprisingly gone. (Popularly known as Yandakoture) Alhaji Usman Ndagi. A coach, polite, welcoming, and always with his people at heart, giving them opportunities to develop and empower themselves. His multiple positive influences on our culture are enormous.
His sister’s death came as a shock to everyone yesterday and he was expected to leave Abuja this morning for Mokwa. When he felt a bit dizzy, he called for his luggage to be carried to the car and decided to rest a little only so that they could return to a dead body.
I saw him at his home in Minna on September 6th this year and spoke with him over the phone last week, not knowing that those will be my last moments with this man who has a lot to imitate, particularly when it comes to giving back to our community. Indeed, this is a horrible death for all of us and if death should take away anything more then we would happily give, but this is Allah’s pledge that, one after the other, all of us would surely taste death.
