DAILY: Soldiers flee as Boko Haram attacks Borno Military Base

Suspected members of the deadly terrorist group Boko Haram reportedly killed a civilian JTF member, a police officer, and another person along Maiduguri, Magumeri Road, Borno State, northeastern Nigeria.

Three gun trucks were stationed between Chabol and Magumeri by Boko Haram insurgents and fired at the military base located in that area.

A source said “After displacing the military, they attacked the police checkpoint where they burnt down one police vehicle and took one with them. There are three corpses now at the spot. A CJTF, A Police Officer and another civilian.”

Remember In July 2017, exploration workers and Maiduguri University staff were attacked by Boko Haram, killing 69 people on the Magumeri route.

This happen when the service chiefs of Nigeria arrived in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, to meet with vital stakeholders to strategize how to counter the insurgency of Boko Haram in the theatre of war.

Major General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defense Staff, led the delegation to arrive at Operation Lafiya Dole Air Task Force headquarters in Maiduguri on Sunday.

Alongside Maj. General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff; Maj. General Ibrahim Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff; AVM Awwal Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff; and Air Vice Marshal Isiaka Amao, Chief of Air Staff.

Irabor was received by Maj.-Gen, along with his team. Farouq Yahaya, Commander of the Theatre, Lafiya Dole Operation, Maj.-Gen. Abdul Khalifa, Commanding General Officer, 7th Division of the Nigerian Army and other Principal Officers of the Military Command and Control Centre of the Air Task Force Headquarters.
